Stillness II

Much as I love the colours and quality of the actual photograph, something really puts me off about the composition...

In the act of adding text you add a new compositional element, and it does not line up at all with any of the compositional elements of the photograph. I also find with the flowers and shadow all leading off to the right the image seems very right heavy and unbalanced, not asymmetric, but unbalanced. I'm not entirely certain about how the photo would work without the text either...

Like I said, I feel the photograph itself is marvelous, the muted way the vase is taken so as not to have many harsh lines and allow true focus to be on the flowers is genius and the whole photo really does embody the idea of stillness.

I shall have to go find stillness I now to have a look XD
